In 2012, Josue Muska Musenge, known as Uncle Black Jack, launched a company with a simple yet powerful mission: to bring joy and positive change to communities across South Africa. What began as a small entertainment initiative has since evolved into the UBJ Community, a dynamic platform dedicated to helping people learn, earn, and connect.
When Josue Muska Musenge first launched the company in 2012, it was known for providing entertainment at schools, malls, and public spaces. With his team, he toured around Soweto and other towns, bringing smiles to the faces of thousands. The company became a beacon of hope for many young people, offering them opportunities to learn new skills and stay away from the dangers of drugs and crime. This early success laid the foundation for a much larger vision.

Expanding the Mission: From Black Circle to UBJ Community
As the company grew, Josue Muska Musenge sought to expand its reach and impact. He envisioned creating a platform that would not only entertain but also educate and empower individuals. This led to the creation of “Black Circle,” an entertainment agency aimed at helping those who had learned entertainment skills to earn money while connecting with clients. However, the name “Black Circle” didn’t resonate as hoped, and in 2015, the brand was rebranded as “Under Black Jack” (UBJ), symbolizing a positive community under a positive brand.
Under the UBJ brand, the company began offering a variety of services to schools, including motivational speaking, live performances by actors, and collaboration with community counselors. These efforts further solidified UBJ’s role as a force for positive change in the community.

Innovating Through Education: The Launch of LAM
In 2016, UBJ Community took a significant step forward with the launch of its first division, LAM (Learn the Art of Magic). This magic school offered both online and in-person training, equipping students with unique skills in the art of magic. LAM’s success paved the way for other divisions, such as Twisted Kitchen, a blockchain-based restaurant initiative.

With each new venture, UBJ Community deepened its commitment to empowering individuals. The company introduced a mentorship program as a benefit for all members, guiding them on their journeys to success. Overcoming Challenges: The Shift to an Online Platform
The COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 brought unprecedented challenges, forcing UBJ Community to close most of its physical divisions, including the restaurant and mobile chicken project. Faced with these obstacles, Josue Muska Musenge made a bold decision: to transition the UBJ Community to an online platform.
This move marked the beginning of a new chapter for UBJ Community. Josue dedicated himself to learning how to build a website, leveraging Facebook groups and WhatsApp to expand the company’s online presence. However, the name “Under Black Jack” was still a barrier for some potential members, who felt uncomfortable being “under” someone. Recognizing this, the brand was rebranded once again, becoming “Uncle Black Jack Community,” or UBJ Community.

A New Era: The UBJ Community Today
The rebranding to the UBJ Community brought clarity to the company’s vision and strengthened its relationships with partners. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 lockdown and the subsequent bankruptcy, the UBJ Community emerged stronger and more focused than ever.

In 2022, UBJ Community relaunched with a new system designed to work both online and on mobile devices. The platform’s mission of “Learn, Earn, and Connect” was revitalized, offering members access to thousands of online courses, mentorship programs, and opportunities to earn money through affiliate marketing and selling products.
The UBJ Community’s innovative MX system (Making Extra Money) empowers members to earn income by helping the community grow. With a solid strategy in place and a passionate team, UBJ Community continues to make a difference in the lives of individuals worldwide.
